Rebellion oneshots 3: "Lilia Flaubert 0084"

The third of these of four Rebellion bonus oneshots Masato Natsumoto included in shinsoban rereleases of his older manga, this one focusing on Lilia Flaubert. This one shows us what happened to her after the events of the One Year War and gives us some insight into how she got to the point she is at by the time we see in her Gundam Legacy. 

Some interesting things I'd like to note here, among these are the mention of Federation concentration camps, implying that the Federation was illegally detaining and mistreating Zeon POWs after the war ended, which is a cruel and somewhat sickening parallel to something like the Vietnam War, where Vietnam held American POWs long after the war had ended. The mention of Silver Lance being a setup for the final arc in Gundam Legacy, and lastly the attempt at humanizing Mallet a bit more. I like that we at least know better what drives Mallet and he has a somewhat sensible motivation despite him being an unhinged psychopath. I found this one a lot more interesting than the Ford bonus chapter I published here last week.

I'd also like to give a big thanks to GIT_LAB and TrafalgarLog for supplying us with the raws for this project or we would never have done these cool Natsumoto bonus chapters. Also No More Cheese Dip for being the real unsung hero of Moon Moon Scans. This chapter was purely him working with the raws and Hichikarah's translations, with no input from me, and just one line change request from Hichikarah in his rewrites.

Moonlight Mile chapter 14: "Robot Days (3)"

Another chapter of Moonlight Mile! Things are heating up as we learn more about the accident, and see Sawamura more determined than ever. I love seeing where this is going, this series has been great so far and it's fun for me reading each chapter as we translate it.

An important update to this by the way. Hichikarah is making just enough money from work to cover her living expenses, but she wanted to spend some money on Moon Moon Scans' operations. So she took a private commission by a friend of hers to translate a sci fi novel to Japanese for them so that she can pay for some of our projects. She purchased the 6th volume of "Moonlight Mile Complete Edition", as well as something else we'll be using in the near future for a project of ours we hope to get started on in June. She promised this commission won't slow her down too much, but if we can't make our schedule one day as a result of this, we'll probably just upload a completed compiled volume that we have done instead on a day where we would normally upload. Mobile Suit Gundam Ixtab: Goddess of Fallen Soldiers chapter 8

Originally another Masato Natsumoto oneshot was going to be uploaded today, but No More Cheese Dip's got some kind of thing beyond his control keeping him busy at home, and he has been unable to work on those these past few days, so here's something we've had done for a little while instead, just never uploaded: Ixtab chapter 8! I've noticed it's been nearly a month since we last uploaded a chapter of Ixtab, considering all the Moonlight Mile chapters and the three oneshots we've done so far. So it's time to remedy that.

This chapter develops Eliza a lot more, following up on what was hinted at about her in chapter 6. It's kind of nice learning about her, you feel sorry for her, but you also want her to just calm the heck down. Kind of nice to get this after Chapters 6 and 7 chose to focus on developing Shiro of all characters, who is someone we already know plenty about thanks to 08th MS Team.

Moonlight Mile chapter 13: "Robot Days (2)"

With how things are going, we're going to be doing simultaneous Blogspot and Mangadex releases for Moonlight Mile, unless for whatever reason Mangadex makes us stop. So for the time being this is what we're doing.

This chapter has some beautiful looking panels. Ohtagaki's art is really starting to ramp up. It's not quite his peak (early to mid 2010s before his tendonitis) but we've moved beyond the early style he had in prior works during his tenure with Kodansha such as "Ippei" and "Kazuo". Page 16 in particular just hits. I'm reading each chapter for the first time as we translate it, though I do know where the story goes and some plot details from later arcs. Sawamura is someone totally new to me, apparently the anime kind of did this character dirty and when adapting the manga, they skipped an entire arc from the manga focused around him during the adaptation process, which is a shame. I haven't seen the anime, but so far Sawamura seems interesting, it'll be fun learning more about him, as well as seeing the return of a character from the first volume. I like this style of going through different evets Gorou and Lostman are involved in, and we're seeing them from the POV of other characters. Chapter 2 did this Ryoko Ikeuchi, chapter 3 did this with Thomas and Douglas, chapter 4 did this with Moera, chapter 5 did this with Ali, chapter 6 did this with Tanya, chapter 7 with Steve, the Drifting arc did this with Joseph and now we're doing this with Sawamura. I also love that we're getting into more serialized story telling with arcs now.

First post and first Blogspot release: Rebellion oneshots 2: "Ford Romfellow 0084"

Hello all, it's Mina. Despite me trying to take a more backseat role in the translations as things in my life get busier, I'm dragged back in with what people are now calling "The Mangadex Massacre". So now our plans have been thrown into chaos and we've had to move. I made this blog back in 2024 when we initially began doing translations without the intention to share them in the immediate future. We were going to use this platform, but when we made the decision to publish our works we decided to use Mangadex. With the future of that platform being shakey, we've migrated here. Is this the permanent home of Moon Moon Scans? Who knows, but I'm going to be publishing our existing translations with a bit of commentary here, as well as new ones. We may upload to Comick too, but right now we're prioritizing blogspot. Moonlight Mile will be uploaded to Mangadex as well without worry. It is owned solely by Ohtagaki and published independently by him, so nobody can take it down unless they're acting on his behalf, and I doubt he would be vindictive enough to come after us himself or send someone to do it for him, given that the manga has never been licensed. Still we're not taking too many risks, so for now this is the home of Moon Moon for the foreseeable future.

Here's the download link to our first release on blogspot, a bonus chapter for "Space at the End of a Flash"

Masato Natsumoto, while making 0083 Rebellion, made the conscious decision to continue with his trend of linking his manga together narratively, now under the "Rebellion" moniker. He did new reprints of Lost War Chronicles with a bonus chapter called "Catch the Taffy", and then followed it up with a reprint of "Space at the End of a Flash", now reprinted under the name "Rebellion: From Place In Encounter". This rerelease was significant as each volume contained a new bonus oneshot tying into either 0083 Rebellion or "Gundam Legacy". This chapter was appended to the reprint of volume 1, and it is set between volume 16 and 17 of 0083 Rebellion. This chapter features Ford reminiscing on the events of "From Place In Encounter" as he moves on to the next chapter of his life. We'd like to thank GIT_LAB and TrafalgarLog for supplying us with these raws.
